Dude. I've been listening to that song ALL day. I LOVE it. Definitely my favorite song too! :DDDD
I liked the episode, but I did not like Tori Spelling. Are we gonna watch it in club next week?
I hope so :D
DAMN SKIPPY WE ARE
I loved the episode! So many amazing things I could rant about, but I don't want to say any spoilers, though I doubt anypony hasn't seen the episode. There will be plenty of time to do that next week!
BEST EPISODE OF ALL TIME. Can't wait for the meetup where everyone will be flipping out about it. Btw, was. The predictions game supposed to be for the most accurate or the most random?
VINYL SHOWED HER EYES =D
"There was actually a double meaning in the song. The song is in the key of Db Major (just like winter wrap up!) . That means that the root chord is a Db major chord. Usually, a Ab major chord will lead into a Db major. This is the V-I chord progression and it is also known as the Authentic Cadence (stick with me here). Now, it seems to resolve to a sadder chord at the end of the phrase. Instead of ending on Db major around 1:16, it lands on Bb minor: the relative minor of Db major. Now, when a chord progression seems to be heading to the root chord but lands on the relative minor instead, that is called a......Deceptive CadenceAlso worth noting, listen to how Twilight sings the last "forever" in the song. Her little cadenza (I am seriously not making these words up) quotes the opening notes of the theme song"Daniel Ingram is a fucking genius.
That is either an amazing coincidence or a ridiculously clever way of incorporating the theme of the story into the music. I wouldn't bet against Daniel Ingram's genius.
The season finale was a smashing success! Royal Canterlot wedding is indeed best wedding. I'm also glad we had the opportunity to see Luna once again. This is probably my top favorite episode, second to Putting Your Hoof Down.
So...best episode ever. Not even close for me. I can't believe we're going to have to wait so many months to see more. Still, this is one hell of a sendoff for the season!
Just watched the finale after having been away all weekend. I'm literally blown away! I wish I had been able to see it with you all first...I would have been going crazy. Hell, it was 1 am and I was on the edge of my seat! Just ask Wayne XDI REALLY wish I could make the next meetup. If there ever was an episode I wanted to watch with you all, it's this one. :(
If it turns out we can hang out some time this week, we'll have to do that.
Well why can't you come? If you need a ride just let me know! I'll be more then glad to pick you up.
I have to attend a field trip to Ithaca for my Sedimentology class. I'll be home Saturday at 10pm. Don't worry. I'll be able to make the May 12th one.
